Here is a substitute chicken sauté made from veggie meat. The curry sauce makes the rice more fun to eat. Try it with a side dish of salad with Thousand Island dressing! |
Substitute chicken sauté curry sauce
Ingredients
1 bag block type veggie meat (a handful per person), 1 bag Vegeta Soup Mix (with the powder removed from the bag), a little pepper and wheat flour.
1/2 an onion, 1 segment of garlic, 1 piece of ginger, 2 tablespoons sake, 2 cups water, 1/2 cup curry powder, 1 tablespoon ketchup, 1 teaspoon soy sauce.
|
1) Reconstitute the block type veggie meat in plenty of warm water, squeeze off the water, place it in a bowl and coat in the Vegeta Soup powder, pepper and flour.
2) Heat a generous amount of grape seed oil in a frying pan and fry the veggie meat from 1) till it is nicely brown all over.
3) Heat some grape seed oil in another frying pan for making the curry sauce. Fry the onion, and when it is transparent, add the garlic and ginger and fry all together. When a nice fragrance is coming off, add the sake, curry powder, water, ketchup, and the soy sauce and keep the heat on until the mixture begins to thicken.
4) Place the veggie meat from 2) on a dish and pour on the curry sauce from 3).

"Curry sauce... er, this isn't veggie meat, then..." (^_^) My husband and the children ate it all up! The curry sauce is delicious and really whets the appetite (*^_^*). I think I'll try making it again. |
