This is a little item, good for packed lunches as well as meals at home, using corned beef substitute as a stuffing for green peppers. |
Green peppers stuffed with potato
Ingredients
8 green peppers, 5 potatoes, 2 cans Soyees, 1/2 an onion, 1/2 segment of garlic, a little katakuri starch and grape seed oil
A: 5 twists of the World Salt mill, 3 tablespoons Tohnyuzu (mayonnaise substitute), a little pepper
|
1) Cut the green peppers in half lengthwise, remove the seeds and dust them with katakuri starch.
2) Grate the garlic, chop up the onion finely, remove the Soyees from the cans and pull the corned beef substitute apart with your hands.
3) Peel the potatoes, cut them into appropriately-sized pieces, boil and mash.
4) Mix the garlic, onion and Soyees from 2) with the potato from 3), add the seasoning from A and mix well, then stuff the green peppers with this filling.
5. Warm some grape seed oil in a frying pan, fry over a strong flame with the filled side down, turn over when nicely fried, put on the lid and fry for a further three minutes over a medium-low flame.

I don't really like stuffed green peppers with meat, but this is delicious!
Good for the children's packed lunches. I can make them at home to look just like the photo! |
[Customer feedback]
Ms. A: I was quite interested in this recipe and I was surprised to find that the Soyees was very delicious and did not taste at all like soy beans. The filling is very tasty and goes very well with the flavour of the green pepper. My children told me they were very good and ate them all up! My husband, who is anti-vegetarian, didn't even notice the lack of real meat
Ms. B: I had eaten Soyees before and had not liked it because of the 'fishy' smell, but this dish was not 'fishy' and was really delicious. A very good way to eat green peppers. Quite filling and looks like it might be good as a croquette. It looks like my family will eat more green peppers now we have added this dish to the qing jiao rou si (shredded green peppers with minced meat).
